Once again this year, City Union Mission will team up with Hy-Vee to Stuff A Truck with food and other needed items to care for Kansas City’s poor or homeless. Shoppers at all 21 Hy-Vee stores may purchase a $1.64 (approximate meal cost), $4.92 or $9.84 voucher, located at cash registers, anytime from Oct. 12 to Nov. 16. All donations made through the purchase of gift vouchers will be used to buy grocery items for the Mission’s Men’s Shelter and Family Center.

City Union Mission relies upon Stuff A Truck to provide food to feed the poor or homeless not only during the holidays, but all year long. Last year thousands of Hy-Vee shoppers participated in Stuff A Truck by purchasing vouchers at their local Hy-Vee stores. The Mission will use this years funds to purchase groceries at cost from the Hy-Vee warehouse, which will help provide approximately 900 meals per day.
